Welcome to Kangaroo Island! This full day Kangaroo Island Wildlife and Scenic Tour is designed to cater to cruise ship passengers looking to explore Kangaroo Island in a single day.
Disembark your tender transfers to Penneshaw terminal, where your guide will be awaiting you.
First stop is Pennington Bay, one of Kangaroo Island’s most Scenic surf beaches where bottlenose dolphins can often be seen frolicking in the shallows. Delicious home-baked morning tea provided here.
Next, delve into a bit of Kangaroo Island’s history at Clifford’s Honey Farm. Dave and Jenny Clifford have been producing Ligurian Bee honey since 1973. Sample a range of honey products at the farm-gate store and taste the ice cream!
Leave the bitumen behind and enjoy the beautiful landscapes along our scenic Northern Coast of KI. Learn about our key primary industries including wine, grain, sheep, cattle, fishing and abalone whilst keeping a lookout for the abundant wildlife that call this area home.
Take a short bush walk and look out for our highly endangered Glossy Black Cockatoo. Observe artificial nesting boxes that have been installed to secure this future of this incredibly shy bird endemic to Kangaroo Island.
Arrive at Stokes Bay, and meander through the fascinating rock formations onto Australia’s newly acclaimed Best Beach! Look out for rare shore birds such as the hooded plover, scan the waves for dolphins and long-nosed fur seals and keep an eye out for oceanic raptors such as the endangered Eastern Osprey or White Bellied Sea Eagle that can often be seen fishing here.
Enjoy a delicious gourmet picnic lunch in a stunning location.
It is now time to spot some of Kangaroo Island’s most iconic wildlife, the endemic Kangaroo Island Kangaroo, Tammar Wallaby and of course our gorgeous Koalas. We have the privilege of entering sanctuaries not open to the public where sightings are guaranteed even in the heat of summer.
Continue to Snellings Beach and head up to the Constitution Hill for arguably the best lookout on Kangaroo Island. Have your cameras ready as this view will not disappoint!
Follow the ironstone ridge from one side of the island to the other along roads less travelled, always on the lookout for more of our iconic wildlife such as the Rosenberg Goanna, Black Tiger Snake or Kangaroo Island Echidna.
Our last stop for the day is Seal Bay, the only accessible breeding colony of the highly endangered Australian Sealion. As accredited Seal Bay ranger/guides, we are able to offer you a completely private tour on the beach experiencing these incredible animals up close and personal – a world-class experience not to be missed!
Return to Penneshaw.
